aerialist | performer
Emily LaHaie is an NYC based aerialist who performs on dance trapeze, silks, rope, and hammock. A former competitive synchronized skater, she draws on a foundation in ballet and visual art to support her creative versatility.
She continually explores using the interplay between musicality, intentional movement, and storytelling to create a commanding connection with her audience. She is inspired by stories that range from heartbreak to triumph and the pivotal experiences in between. Her ability to tease out details from unexpected moments brings texture, sensuality, and humor to her work.
Emily has performed at venues around New York including The Slipper Room, Brooklyn Art Haus, and Bindlestiff Family Cirkus Variety Show. She has created both solo acts and collaborated on devised group projects.
Outside of performing, she is a comprehensively certified Pilates instructor as well as a speech-language pathologist. She is excellent at keeping a secret and is always happier upside down.
